Why are people so afraid to END “dating” relationships that are NOT WORKING?

I just ended it with a guy I was seeing. He did not meet my needs/wants; and being realistic, I did not meet his either. We just had two different viewpoints of what we “wanted/needed” in a relationship. When I realized that I was getting frustrated, I just ended-it. If people are not on the SAME PAGE, in the SAME CHAPTER, or even in the SAME BOOK, why can’t they just accept that there’s someone out there who is???
